So to keep Brian Kaufman from making a third consecutive post with his name in the title, I am attempting some hastily-constructed defensive blogging.
Apparently, in Florida, you can get arrested for farting (which is somehow related to turning off computers?).
Luckily for the contingent of the Harvard population which subsists solely on tofu & squash, that doesn't seem to be a law in effect in Cambridge.
I couldn't help posting this:
I stumbled across it while writing my paper...which I should get back to...
According to Think Progress, the conservative Florida legislature, specifically the Schools and Learning Council, has renamed the education school at the University of Florida to the "Jeb Bush College of Education." This is in response to the 38-28 vote against giving him an honorary degree. So the school will now have to "erect ‘suitable markers‘ noting the college’s new name and include the revised name in all university documents, including catalogues and brochures." The kicker? Legislators admit that they did this in response to the decision of the school, which was legitimate in the first place, given that under Jeb's One Florida plan, black enrollment in state universities fell considerably.
