Governor Shaheen is a great person, a fantastic governor, and one of the greatest hopes for a Democratic pickup in 2008. Her opponent, John Sununu, is none of those things. A discussion with Canon Andrew White, who has acted as a negotiator in many conflict situations in the Middle East, including the siege of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and the riots between Muslims and Christians in Northern Nigeria. He coordinates the Alexandria Process, a religious track complimenting the Middle East peace Process. He’s a regular visitor to Baghdad, where he’s worked with both the political and religious leadership.
