UPDATE: Due to predicted hurricane-force rains tomorrow, the campaigns have cancelled their outdoor canvassing activities and don't have enough indoor work for us to do. So, unfortunately, we'll be having to cancel the trip. Check back for more information about future trips!

Join the Dems this Saturday morning as we go to Manchester, New Hampshire to canvass for a range of Democratic candidates.

We'll all be leaving from Johnston Gate on the same big yellow school bus at 10am, but you can sign up to spend the day volunteering for: Jeanne Shaheen for NH Senate; Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, or John Edwards for President.

If you're interested, we'll also be meeting in Annenberg around 9:30 to fuel up right for an intense day of campaigning! (We'll have hot chocolate on the bus as well!)

Click here to sign up! When you sign up, please indicate which candidate you will be campaigning for in parentheses after your name. [Example: "Mel McGowan (Shaheen)".] It is also very important that you list your cell phone number.

Come out on Sunday, November 4th to participate in good, old-fashioned, civic engagement with a VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE!

UPDATE: Meet at OUT-OF-TOWN NEWS in Harvard Square by 2:00pm on Sunday.

This is formally titled as a Service Day, following up the Dems trips to Habitat for Humanity and the Greater Boston Food Bank. There is no better way to give back to a community than empowering them to vote and have a say in our government.

So come on out! We'll even train you if you've never done this before! We'll meet in the square and then spread out to spots within Cambridge for the best service we have to offer!

CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP. Questions? Email Jill at political@harvarddems.com.

I swear, the next Board member that goes into hysterics over OUR LAST MEETING BOO HOO HOO is gonna get one in the nose from me. Get over it, I say -- out with the old and in with the new. Nostalgia is so very bourgeois. But yes, I am contractually obligated to point out that (since next Monday is Veterans' Day and there'll be no meeting) this will be the last general meeting presided over by the 2006-2007 Board, after which we will all be put out to pasture and replaced by some of you sprightly idealistic young'uns. As a consequence of this, our weeping President and Vice President will attempt to buy your lifelong admiration with COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF FOOD -- so I guess this thing does provide some level of utility to the Revolutionary Cause after all. Also we'll lay out final plans for the CONVENTION, collect dues (which you are required to pay in order to be eligible to vote), and general merriment. Committees as usual (although most of them will primarily be high-school-graduation-style yearbook-signing sessions, with that one Green Day song playing in the background. You know the one I mean.)

Thursday at 5 PM in the Dunster JCR

What's the difference between Pizza and Habeas Corpus? We don't
technically have a constitutional right to pizza. (If only...)

But there WILL be free pizza at the Habeas Corpus Dinner Discussion this Thursday at 5pm in the Dunster JCR --- even for enemy combatants.

Join the Dems, the Harvard Advocates for Human Rights, and the Harvard College Law Society this Thursday to learn about the history of habeas corpus, discuss what it means for it to be suspended under the 2006 Military Commissions Act, and take action.

For more info, contact Jill at political@harvarddems.com.

(Please try to show up at 2.) The Dems CLEANING UP POLITICS DAY was such an unlikely incredible success last time that we're going for it again! CLEANING UP POLITICS will entail working as many or few hours as you choose, for Dorm Crew -- proceeds going to support the Dems' campaign effort for the candidate of your choice. Seriously it's more fun than you'd think. You do need to SIGN UP -- make sure to indicate, next to your name, which presidential campaign (or just the Dems in general) you want to support.
