The elections for the 2012 executive board of the Harvard College Democrats will take place on Monday, November 21st at 8PM in Sever 103. If you are a dues paid member having attended at least two Dems events, you are eligible to vote!

The Harvard College Democrats and The Institute of Politics invite you to join us for a discussion
and meet-and-greet with Visiting Fellow, David S. Muir, Director of Political Strategy and Special Adviser to Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Come hear Mr. Muir talk about the differences between American and British political strategy, how his findings about falling support in the Labour Party are relevant to the reduced support of President Obama, and what actions can be taken to increase support for the President during this election cycle.

Nourish and Serve a Great Success!

This afternoon, we held our first event of the year–a trip to The Greater Boston Food Bank. A big shout-out to everyone who came to sort and box over 6,236 pounds of food. We provided, in our short trip, enough meals to feed a person for almost two months. However, the work is never complete, and we will be partnering with the Humanist Chaplaincy at Harvard tomorrow for their Interfaith Community Service event (packaging 9,110 meals!). If you’d like to attend and continue to nourish and serve, then the place to be is Ticknor Lounge at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow!

Environmental Advocacy Summer Opportunity

Just passing along this opportunity for those of you in Cambridge during the summer!

MASSPIRG is hiring motivated and passionate people with good communication
skills to help us protect our environment this summer.

Every year, we burn and bury over 6 million tons of trash in Massachusetts,
which is polluting and unsustainable for our state. The good news is that we
have one of the most effective recycling programs in the country, the Bottle
Bill – the 5-cent deposit on soda and beer bottles. So MASSPIRG is working
to pass a bill that will update the Bottle Bill to include more containers,
like bottled water and juice bottles.

To pass this bill, we’re building up a groundswell of public support.
That’s where you come in!

MASSPIRG is hiring talented people to jump right in and join our campaign
staff this summer. We have full-time summer job opportunities earning

Join the Dems for our last meeting of the semester as we say farewell to our wonderful seniors. We will reflect on the year’s events and successes, plan for the coming summer and year, and thank our graduating members for their incredible contributions to the organization.
